In my first blog, I am excited to discuss what steps we should be taking NOW, to re-launch our lives for 2013!
I believe the key for all of us to have an outstanding 2013, is to make some clear decisions on what life we want to be living, and we need to make these decisions NOW, in 2012.
On New Year’s Eve at 12:00 AM as the celebration for the New Year happens, we pop the cork on the sparkling cider or champagne, hug and kiss our loved ones, and say to ourselves with a smile on our face, HAPPY NEW YEAR! A New Year means a new start, more money, better health, get in shape, out with the old, and in with the new! Oooooooooooh yeeeeaaaaaah. Then we wake up later that month, and wow 2013 feels just like 2012! It’s only a month later and we’ve lost our enthusiasm for the change we wanted, the new life, our exercise and health goals, and we settle back into the same old life we had in 2012.
How do we break the pattern? How do we reboot our brain to truly have a different 2013? The key is to start NOW, not on New Year’s Day. Prepare your mind, body, and soul with a few days left in this year, so that you start 2013 with momentum! This will allow you to have the experiences that so many others will not, because they aren’t prepared.
There is the old adage “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”. What do we need to do to be prepared for our fresh start in 2013? The key is to start by asking ourselves some questions.
What do we want that is different than what we have, or are experiencing now?
I was just doing a speaking engagement for a group recently, and after the event a man came up to me and said thank you. I said for what? He stated, “tonight for the first time in a very long time I decided to dream again and it felt good. He said I’m a computer engineer and all the jobs are shipped overseas and I’ve been a rut, broke with no way out, but tonight I started to dream again and think about what I want.” He said, thanks for helping me dream again. Guess what? We all have the same issue. It’s hard to think big and dream when we don’t know how we are going to make ends meet and survive.
Here is my challenge for you, let’s take the time to ask ourselves a few questions and then let’s answer the questions and more importantly let’s find some solutions for the answers!
What type of health and shape do you want to be in in 2013?
What kind of financial increase do you want to see in 2013?
What can you do to add more value to your family and friends?
Dare to dream and think bigger than before, the first step in getting more is thinking more about what you want! So start now and ask yourselves these questions this week and watch your mind expand!
